Who you're actually hiring

Rovak Solutions is deliberately small. The person who scopes the work is the person who builds it and the person who hands it over.

One principal. A fleet of agents.

The studio is led by Roy van Kaathoven. He writes the specification, reviews the work, and is the person you deal with from the first call to the handover. The capacity comes from orchestrating coding agents rather than from a floor of engineers, which is why a studio this size takes on work that would normally need a team.

Where a project genuinely needs someone else, a designer or a specialist in a domain we don't own, we bring one in and tell you. What we will not do is subcontract the build quietly and stay on as a layer of project management.

A / Track record
2016

Enterprise document automation

Rebuilt the conversion core of Advanced-Forms and turned its configuration files into a drag-and-drop designer, on top of Microsoft Dynamics, AX and SAP. Moved from developer to technical manager and product owner over twelve engineers.

2019

Geospatial product engineering

Built Helios for Autarco with the company’s physics experts: trace a roof on a satellite map, get an instant panel layout and yield, calculated in the browser.

2019–25

Co-founder and CTO

Co-founded an interactive live-streaming platform, wrote its first line of code, set its architecture and led engineering for six years, from three people to a company of around fifty, multi-region across the US and Asia, through to its acquisition by an international group in 2024.

2021

Multi-chain infrastructure

Wrote Seedit, a custodial crypto tipping bot spanning TRON, Ontology, Binance DEX and Solana from one codebase. More than a million wallets created.

2025

Agents, before the tooling existed

Built Sakurai in-house: a Slack-native agent platform exposing company services as MCP tools, with more than fifteen focused agents covering support, code review, release notes, moderation and analytics.

2026

The studio

Rovak Solutions, running the AI-first method on client work, alongside Socialog, MandarinAI and Bikkel, which are built and operated on the same stack.

B / Why this shape

Fifteen years of building software, six of them running an engineering organisation, taught the same lesson repeatedly: most of what slows a product down is coordination, not difficulty. Hand-offs between a design agency, a backend contractor and a frontend contractor cost more than any of the work they do.

Coding agents changed the arithmetic. Writing code stopped being the constraint, so the team that used to be necessary to produce volume stopped being necessary. What is left is the part that always mattered: deciding precisely what to build, and reviewing what comes back with enough experience to know what fails at three in the morning.

So the studio is built around one accountable person rather than a headcount to keep busy. That is also why a build is priced per scope: the incentive should be to finish rather than to accumulate hours. Consultancy is the other half of the work and runs hourly, because advice has no deliverable to scope and pricing it as though it did would be a fiction.

How the work runs
What this is not
  • An agency with a bench to keep utilised.
  • A marketplace that resells freelancers.
  • A team you will never meet after the sales call.
  • A vendor you have to keep paying to run what you own.

If it's sharp enough to prove in a week, we'll say so and give you a date. If it isn't, we'll tell you that too, along with what we'd build first instead.
